Psalm 13:5
Lord, I only want to close my eyes after first gazing upon Your beauty. There are times when the goodness of Your grace and the tenderness of Your character seem far from me. I do not want to fall asleep to the anxious wandering of my thoughts. I want to rest in Your truth. I want to find comfort in Your presence. But God, sometimes I just feel forgotten. I feel like there’s this chasm between You and me. Holy Spirit, come and intercede on my behalf. Translate these groans into desperate songs of praise. Meet me in my doubt and comfort me so that I may sleep under the warm embrace of Your presence rather than the cold surface of my soul. Answer me, God, according to Your steadfast love. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
