Psalm 122

I was glad when they said to me, 'Let’s go to the Lord’s house!'

Psalm 122:1
Dear Lord, tonight, as I lay my head down and seek peace, I pray that Your perfect love would cast out all fear. Free me from anxiety, and hold my thoughts captive. Hedge me in and build walls of protection around my mind like the ramparts of Jerusalem. My thoughts wander and stray away from You. Memories of mistakes and missed opportunities replay themselves in my mind’s eye, seeking to shame me and rob me of my sleep. Be my protector and bring my lost consciousness back into Your comforting embrace. There is peace within Your walls, Lord Jesus, and I can genuinely repose in Your presence. Deliver me tonight from intrusive thoughts and usher me into blissful sleep. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
