Psalm 102

In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord. My hand was stretched out in the night, and didn’t get tired. My soul refused to be comforted.

Psalm 102:2
Dear Everlasting Father, I know You listen even when I feel most alone. You bend Your ear down to hear my cries. You have kept every tear and attended to every complaint. Tonight I am grateful for a God who has not kept Himself distant and aloof. You have come near to me and considered my heart. As I unwind after a long day, I ask that You release me from loneliness and remind my heart that You are close. More than any family or friend, You completely understand me. You are acquainted with every weakness, sin, and shortcoming, yet love me anyways. You call me a friend, child, and co-heir in Christ despite my failures and flaws. What a wonderful thing it is to be completely known and wholly loved. Comfort me in Your warm and accepting embrace tonight, Lord. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
